Your first visit

Your first visit gives us the opportunity to start getting to know you and your dental needs, and gives you the chance to let us know about any particular worries or concerns you may have.

We will carry out a thorough examination of your mouth, including your teeth, gums and soft tissues, and will make detailed notes about what is happening in your mouth.

We will always ask you if you are on any medication. This is extremely important - we need to know that any medicines we prescribe or local anaesthetics we use do not interfere with your current medication. It can also help to explain anything unusual that we see in your mouth - for example some medication can cause you to have a dry mouth. We also need to know any medical conditions you suffer from, for similar reasons.

Once we have completed our examination, we will let you know if you need any treatment. We will explain the treatment options available to you, so you can make an informed choice about which is best for you, your teeth and your budget.
